Our Story

Willow Sanctum Digital began with an uncomfortable observation: institutions trusted to remember everything for us were running on storage that remembered nothing for longer than a hardware refresh cycle. Link rot, dead formats, silent bit-rot — the digital dark age was already underway, one unreadable file at a time.
So we built the alternative. Today our team designs cloud preservation systems, digital heritage repositories and interactive virtual libraries for museums, national archives, universities and research centres. More than 100 million artifacts are preserved on our infrastructure, and every one of them is fixity-checked, geographically redundant and indexed for discovery.
We operate from Chesham, England, under GEM FILMS LTD, and work with heritage partners across three continents — from small county record offices to national cultural institutions.
